About London Cable Car Round-Trip Ticket

The London Cable Car, long known as the IFS Cloud Cable Car, opened in 2012 as Britain’s first and only urban cable car. Run by Transport for London, it carries passengers 90 metres above the Thames between Greenwich Peninsula, beside The O2, and the Royal Docks near ExCeL London. It is part public transport link and part attraction, and the view is what makes it the latter.

The crossing takes around ten minutes each way, with cabins departing roughly every thirty seconds, so you are rarely waiting long. Every cabin is glass-sided and private to your group, which means you get uninterrupted views in every direction and no one else’s elbows in your photographs.

What you see depends on which way you look. Canary Wharf’s cluster of towers dominates one side, with Greenwich’s maritime landmarks and the curves of The O2 below. Look east and the Thames Barrier stretches across the river, with the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park beyond. On clear days St Paul’s Cathedral and The Shard are both visible on the horizon.

It works just as well in the dark. Evening crossings swap the skyline for a map of city lights, and the cable car runs late on Fridays and Saturdays, so it pairs neatly with a gig at The O2 or dinner in Greenwich.

A free POPGuide digital audio guide accompanies the journey with history, fun facts and interactive maps.

Book through Thrillark and secure your round-trip crossing at the best available rate, so you can turn up and ride.
