Thrillark logo
Southern Thailand's first lion park has arrived in Chalong, and it's unlike anything else in Phuket. Lion Land is where you step into an enclosure — not behind glass, not on a viewing deck — and spend 15 minutes face-to-face with one of the planet's most majestic predators. Choose the experience that matches your comfort level: a fluffy 2-month-old baby cub small enough to cradle, a playful small lion bounding around its enclosure, or the imposing presence of a 48-month big cat. Every interaction is supervised by two experienced keepers, conducted in designated safety zones, and photographed professionally. Framed prints, nursery feeding packages, milk bottle sessions, and BBQ feeds — there's a depth of lion experience here that Phuket has never offered before. Book on Thrillark.

About Lion Land Phuket Ticket

Lion Land Phuket is built around a simple but powerful idea: that the most memorable wildlife encounters happen not from a distance, but from inside the enclosure. Located on Soi Palai in Chalong — a short drive from Big Buddha and easily reached from any part of Phuket — the park opened in 2024 as Southern Thailand's first dedicated lion experience. Its lions are raised with positive reinforcement from birth, socialized to be calm with humans, and each has its own distinct personality that visitors often remark on.

Five lion age groups are available, each offering a genuinely different encounter. Baby lions (2–4 months) are the softest, most cub-like, and can be held close — the experience most visitors describe as life-changing. Smallest lions (4–6 months) are beginning to find their energy and playfulness. Small lions (6–12 months) are bounding and interactive. Medium lions (12–18 months) are entering their adolescent power — still approachable but with a growing presence. Big lions (18–48 months) offer the full majesty of a near-adult lion in an experience restricted to adults over 15 and taller than 160 cm for safety.

Feeding experiences add another dimension to a Lion Land visit. Milk Feeding lets you hold a 6oz bottle and nurse a lion cub — available at the 10:00, 13:00, and 16:00 nursery sessions only. BBQ Feeding lets you personally offer a grilled meat piece to a lion and witness their feeding instinct up close. Both are available as singles or as part of expanded sets. The Nursery Packages are the most comprehensive Lion Land experience: conducted in a dedicated air-conditioned nursery room, they combine lion cub time with additional lion size interactions, a selected meal from the restaurant menu, a take-home lion cub doll, and both physical framed prints and at least 25 digital photo files — a complete lion day in one booking. Insiders' Tips

Book in advance — the Baby Lion sessions fill fastest, and the Nursery feeding times (10:00, 13:00, 16:00) are in high demand. Arrive at least 30 minutes before your scheduled nursery or milk feeding session time. Wear comfortable, neutral-coloured clothing and closed-toe shoes. Avoid loose scarves, dangling jewellery, or anything that might catch a cub's attention during your interaction. Flash photography is prohibited around the lions — the park's professional photographers capture your experience in natural light, so trust the process. Morning visits (opening at 9:00 AM) tend to be the quietest and the lions are most active. The Baby and Smallest lions are the most sought-after for families — if visiting with children under 15, these are the only two sizes available for them.

Lion Land Phuket Ticket Frequently Asked Questions

What is Lion Land Phuket?
Lion Land Phuket is Southern Thailand's first dedicated lion experience park, opened in 2024 in Chalong, Phuket. Unlike traditional zoos, Lion Land allows visitors to enter the enclosure and interact directly with lions of five different age groups — from 2-month baby cubs through to 48-month big cats — under the close supervision of trained, experienced keepers. The park's lions are raised using positive reinforcement from birth, socialised to be calm around humans, and each has a distinct personality that keepers know intimately. Sessions last 15 minutes and include petting, grooming, sitting beside, and photographing the lions.
What is the difference between the five lion sizes?
The five lion sizes at Lion Land Phuket represent genuine age stages, each offering a different experience. Baby Lions (2–4 months) are the smallest and most cub-like — soft, manageable, and often held close for bottle-feeding. Smallest Lions (4–6 months) are slightly larger and beginning to show their playful personalities. Small Lions (6–12 months) are energetic and interactive — bounding, curious, and engaging. Medium Lions (12–18 months) have developed adolescent power and presence. Big Lions (18–48 months) are near-adult in size and restricted to visitors 15 and older with a minimum height of 160 cm — the encounter is the most awe-inspiring but also the most physically commanding.
Is it safe to interact with lions at Lion Land Phuket?
Yes — Lion Land Phuket operates strict safety protocols for every interaction. Two experienced keepers are present throughout every session and never leave the enclosure. Visitors receive a comprehensive safety briefing before entry covering how to move, where to touch, how to sit, and what to avoid. The lions are raised from birth with human socialisation using positive reinforcement techniques. Designated interaction zones are purpose-built for safety. Flash photography is prohibited to avoid startling the animals. The park maintains a passport-based insurance registration for all visitors.
What is the Nursery experience at Lion Land Phuket?
The Nursery experience is Lion Land's most comprehensive package — conducted in a dedicated, air-conditioned nursery room separate from the main enclosures. Nursery sessions are available three times daily at 10:00 AM, 1:00 PM, and 4:00 PM. The nursery houses the youngest lion cubs and provides a more intimate, calm environment for interaction. Nursery packages include time with a lion cub plus 1 or 2 additional lion sizes (depending on the package chosen), a take-home lion cub doll, a meal from the restaurant's selected menu, at least one A4 physical framed photo, and a minimum of 25 digital photo files. Nursery 1 is the most complete; Nursery 3 is the most accessible entry point.
Can I bottle-feed a lion cub?
Yes — the Milk Feeding experience at Lion Land Phuket lets you hold a 6oz feeding bottle and nurse a lion cub during a dedicated feeding session. Milk Feeding is only available at the three nursery session times: 10:00 AM, 1:00 PM, and 4:00 PM. Visitors must arrive at least 30 minutes before their chosen session time to ensure a spot. Milk Feeding is available as a standalone Single add-on or as part of a Feeding Set. It is consistently cited as the most emotionally memorable moment of any Lion Land visit — feeding a lion cub from a bottle while it paws at you is unlike anything else in Phuket.
What is BBQ Feeding at Lion Land Phuket?
BBQ Feeding is a feeding add-on experience where you personally hand-feed a lion a piece of BBQ-grilled meat. It offers a vivid, immediate encounter with a lion's feeding behaviour — the snap of attention, the focus, and the physical power of even a young lion accepting food from your hand. BBQ Feeding is available as a Single add-on or as part of a Feeding Set. Unlike Milk Feeding, BBQ Feeding is not restricted to specific session times and can be added to most interactions. The experience is supervised throughout by keepers who ensure correct hand positioning and safety.
What photos are included with my Lion Land experience?
Photo inclusions vary by package type. Combo packages (Combo 1 and Combo 2) include physical printed framed photos — 3 framed prints with Combo 1, and 2 framed prints with Combo 2 — taken by the park's on-site professional photographers during your interaction. Nursery packages include at least one A4 physical framed print plus a minimum of 25 digital photo files provided for you to keep. Single tickets do not automatically include printed photos, but the park's professional photographers are always present and additional prints are available for purchase on-site. Flash photography by visitors is prohibited; natural light photography with your own device is generally permitted.
What are the height and age requirements at Lion Land?
Requirements differ by lion size: Baby Lion (2–4 months) and Smallest Lion (4–6 months) have no height restriction and are accessible to visitors of all ages, though those under 15 must be accompanied by a paying adult. Small Lion (6–12 months) requires a minimum height of 120 cm and age of 15 or above. Medium Lion (12–18 months) and Big Lion (18–48 months) both require a minimum height of 160 cm and age of 15 or above. Infants aged 0–6 months may enter the baby lion area free of charge when accompanied by a paying adult. Guests with disabilities are limited to Baby and Smallest Lion interactions.
What should I wear and bring to Lion Land Phuket?
Wear comfortable, neutral-coloured clothing and closed-toe shoes — open sandals are not recommended inside lion enclosures. Avoid loose accessories including dangling earrings, scarves, or long necklaces that may attract a cub's attention or become a safety concern. Avoid perfume or strong scents. Do not bring sharp metallic tools or objects into any interaction area. Bring your passport — identification is required at check-in for insurance registration, and is mandatory for all visitors. Wheelchair users and guests with prams should note that Lion Land is not wheelchair or pram accessible in the interaction areas.
