About Ottoman Relics Half Day Afternoon Tour
On a half-day tour, discover Istanbul's famous highlights. The Topkapi Museum, the most significant museum in Turkey and on the Balkan Peninsula, is home to an exceptional wealth of historical artifacts. The magnificent collection of crystal, silver, and Chinese porcelain, as well as the robes worn by the sultans and their families, are housed in the enormous palace that served as the residence of the Ottoman sultans from the 15th to the 19th centuries. This collection also includes the renowned jewels of the Imperial Treasury.The Hagia Irene located in the outer courtyard of Topkapı Palace is the oldest church of the Eastern Roman Empire (Byzantine). In addition, it was Istanbul's second-largest church after Hagia Sophia. It was constructed in 330 on the site of an old temple, and its materials and architecture are typical of the Byzantine period. Next, you'll visit the Sultans Tombs. The most exquisite examples of 16th-century design with purple, green, blue, and red flower themes are these ceramic panels, which are composed of 5 Ottoman Sultans' tombs located in the cemetery at St. Sophia.
