About Spectacular Jumping Crocodile Cruise Ticket
As the boat glides along the river, expert guides provide engaging commentary on the crocodile's behaviour and the surrounding environment — explaining the biology, hunting instincts, territorial behaviour, and extraordinary sensory capabilities of one of the world's most ancient and successful predators. Guides entice the crocodiles to leap from the water using buffalo meat on a pole, drawing these enormous animals — some over 5 metres long and weighing more than 500 kg — entirely out of the river in a display of raw power and natural hunting behaviour that leaves passengers consistently astonished and exhilarated.
Our passion for these animals is clearly evident, and the difference between Spectacular Jumping Crocodile Cruises and other operators on the river is felt immediately — from the dedicated guide on every boat to the industry-leading Animal Ethics Policy developed with NT Parks and Wildlife, and the genuine community connection that makes every ticket a contribution to the Groote Eylandt Archipelago Aboriginal community. Tours run daily at 9:00 AM, 11:00 AM, 1:00 PM, and 3:00 PM. Darwin city transfers are available as an optional add-on. Insiders' Tips
The 9:00 AM and 11:00 AM cruises are the most popular and the crocodiles tend to be most active in the cooler morning hours. Sit on the side of the boat closest to the riverbank for the best crocodile proximity during the feeding and jumping demonstrations. Bring sunscreen and a hat — the upper viewing deck is open air and the Top End sun is intense year-round.
