history just in time for the nation&#8217;s bicentennial. It was designed using a clever circular layout nicknamed the<strong> &#8220;Duell loop,&#8221; <\/strong>which lets you stroll past every themed land while staff scurries around unseen in the middle.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Original headliners included the <strong>Whizzer coaster<\/strong> and the double-decker <strong>Columbia Carousel<\/strong>, both of which are still spinning today.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In <strong>1984<\/strong>, Six Flags swooped in, bought the park, renamed it <strong>Six Flags Great America<\/strong>, and brought the <strong>Looney Tunes<\/strong> gang along for the ride.
