About Leonardo da Vinci Museum: Skip-the-Line Tickets
The museum's 500-square-metre space is organised into four fundamental sections — Earth, Water, Air, and Fire — each exploring a different aspect of Leonardo's remarkable range. More than 60 life-size machine models have been constructed directly from the drawings in Leonardo's famous codices, maintaining the original proportions and materials as closely as possible. The collection spans his war machines (including armoured tanks, giant crossbows, and multi-barrel cannons), his extraordinary flying machines (including the hang glider prototype and the aerial screw that preceded the modern helicopter), his civil engineering designs (including a revolving bridge, hydraulic pumps, and his vision of the Ideal City), and the mechanical principles of physics that underpinned all of his work. At each model, explanatory panels describe how the device functions and what Leonardo intended it to achieve — bridging the gap between 15th-century sketches and working physical reality.
With your skip-the-line ticket, you bypass the entrance queue entirely and collect your materials at the desk immediately on arrival. The included 3D viewer experience adds a further layer of immersion — placing you inside a realistic simulation of Leonardo's flying machines in operation. Painting reproductions of Leonardo's major artistic works are displayed alongside the engineering models, reinforcing the unique truth about this man: that he genuinely saw no boundary between art and science, and that the same mind that painted the Last Supper also designed the prototype tank.
