About Seine River Sightseeing Cruise by Bateaux Mouches
The cruise departs from Port de la Conférence just below Pont de l'Alma on the Right Bank, within easy walking distance of both the Champs-Élysées and the Eiffel Tower.
From the moment the boat casts off, Paris unfolds on both banks. Travelling upriver toward Notre-Dame, the route passes the Louvre, Hôtel de Ville, the Conciergerie, and the tip of Île Saint-Louis before turning at the Arab World Institute.
The return leg follows the Left Bank — Musée d'Orsay, the Assemblée Nationale, and the Trocadéro — before swinging back past the foot of the Eiffel Tower.
The grand Pont Alexandre III, with its gilded statues and ornate lampposts, is consistently cited by visitors as one of the cruise's most beautiful moments.
The open upper deck is the preferred choice on clear days, allowing unobstructed photography and the full sensory experience of the river breeze. The glass-enclosed lower deck provides warmth and comfort in cooler months or rain, with panoramic windows maintaining equally clear sightlines.
Audio commentary in multiple languages plays through stereo speakers throughout the cruise, narrating the history and significance of each landmark as it comes into view.
For evening visitors, timing the cruise to pass the Eiffel Tower on the hour delivers one of Paris's most memorable spectacles – five minutes of sparkling light that has lit up the city's nights since 1985.

Insiders' Tips
For the Eiffel Tower light show, board an evening cruise timed to pass the tower just before the top of the hour — the display runs for exactly five minutes every hour from nightfall. The upper deck, while colder in the evening, is worth it for photos. The pier at Port de la Conférence is on the Right Bank just below Pont de l'Alma — do not confuse it with Bateaux Parisiens, which departs from the Left Bank at the foot of the Eiffel Tower. High season runs April to October with departures every 30–45 minutes; low season (November to March) runs every 40 minutes from 11:00 AM.
