Things to do in Wet'n'wild

Wet’n’Wild Gold Coast is Australia’s largest water park, widely recognised for its expansive land area and extensive collection of attractions. Located in Oxenford within the Gold Coast’s main theme park precinct, it has long been one of the country’s most visited water parks, welcoming over one million visitors annually in peak years. The park combines large-scale water attractions with family-friendly design, making it a standout destination for both locals and international visitors.

The park is best known for its high-thrill water slides, including headline attractions like KABOOM!, the world’s first Master Blaster and Tailspin hybrid featuring a dramatic 10-metre drop, and Tornado, a four-person cloverleaf raft ride that plunges riders into a massive funnel at high speed. Additional adrenaline-pumping experiences such as AquaLoop (trapdoor freefall) and Kamikaze (near-vertical body slide) further cement Wet’n’Wild’s reputation as a top choice for thrill seekers.

Alongside its extreme rides, Wet’n’Wild Gold Coast offers a wide range of interactive, family, and relaxation experiences. Guests can enjoy the FlowRider® surf experience (available as a pay-per-play attraction), dedicated children’s areas within Wet’n’Wild Junior, and newer splash zones like H2Oasis, designed for all ages. For slower-paced fun, attractions such as Calypso Beach and the Giant Wave Pool provide space to unwind. The park operates year-round, with pools and slides heated during winter, ensuring a comfortable visit in every season.

01 KABOOM

Step into a world where gravity-defying speed and cutting-edge water coaster technology collide at KABOOM!, one of Wet’n’Wild Gold Coast’s most innovative and adrenaline-packed attractions. As a world-first fusion of a Master Blaster and Tailspin ride, KABOOM! delivers a unique experience that propels riders uphill, spins them through high-banking spirals, and launches them through intense twists at exhilarating speeds. Built for thrill seekers who want something beyond a standard drop slide, this ride is all about momentum, power, and precision.

Highlights of KABOOM! at Wet’n’Wild Gold Coast
  • World-First Master Blaster + Tailspin Fusion
KABOOM! combines two advanced slide technologies into one ride. After an initial steep drop, powerful water jets blast your two-person tube uphill against gravity, a signature Master Blaster feature rarely seen at this scale.
  • Uphill Water-Jet Thrills
Unlike traditional slides that rely purely on gravity, KABOOM! uses high-pressure water propulsion to push riders uphill, creating a unique sensation of acceleration, weightlessness, and speed in unexpected directions.
  • High-Banking Tailspin Spirals
The Tailspin sections feature tight, high-G 360-degree rotations that feel fast, disorienting, and intensely physical. These open saucer-style elements deliver strong centrifugal forces rather than funnel-style swings.
  • Extreme Speed & Power
KABOOM! reaches speeds of up to 41 km/h, making it one of the fastest water attractions at Wet’n’Wild. The focus is on sustained velocity and force rather than vertical free-fall.
  • Part of Australia’s Tallest Water Slide Tower
The ride launches from a massive 27-metre-high tower, shared with other major thrill attractions, making it a visual and adrenaline centerpiece of the park.

02 TORNADO

Experience the raw power of gravity at TORNADO, one of Wet’n’Wild Gold Coast’s most iconic water slides. Featuring a massive funnel and dramatic wall-to-wall swings, Tornado delivers a high-impact group ride where momentum controls every move. It continues to be one of the park’s most popular headline attractions.

Highlights of TORNADO at Wet’n’Wild Gold Coast
  • Giant Funnel (Signature Element)
Tornado features a huge funnel-shaped structure that launches riders into near-vertical wall swings. The raft climbs high up each side before being pulled back down toward the centre, creating strong airtime sensations.
  • Steep Drop & Explosive Entry
The ride begins with a steep enclosed drop that rapidly accelerates the raft, delivering a powerful launch into the funnel and setting up the intense swinging motion that follows.
  • High-Impact Side-to-Side Swings
Inside the funnel, riders experience dramatic oscillations, with each swing pushing the raft higher up the walls before gravity reverses the motion. This is where Tornado delivers its signature “stomach-lift” moments.
  • Multi-Rider Raft Experience
Tornado uses a cloverleaf raft designed for groups, making it a shared thrill ride. Weight distribution plays a big role in how intense each ride feels, which is why no two rides are exactly the same.
  • Wet’n’Wild Landmark Attraction
Visible from across the park, Tornado is one of Wet’n’Wild’s most recognisable rides and consistently ranks among the longest-queue attractions.

  • Fast Track is worth it if Tornado is a priority ride.
  • If you prefer sustained speed and uphill launches, choose KABOOM!; for dramatic swings and airtime, Tornado delivers the biggest punch.

03 BLACK HOLE

Brace yourself for darkness, speed, and disorientation on BLACK HOLE, one of Wet’n’Wild Gold Coast’s most intense enclosed water slides. Famous for its pitch-black interior and rapid spinning motion, this tandem tube ride strips away visual cues and replaces them with pure sensory thrill. With riders plunging into total darkness and whipping through tight spirals at high speed, Black Hole delivers a suspense-driven adrenaline rush that feels far more extreme than its height suggests.

Highlights of BLACK HOLE at Wet’n’Wild Gold Coast
  • Total Darkness Tube Ride
Black Hole is fully enclosed, creating near-total darkness from start to finish. The absence of light dramatically amplifies speed, motion, and unpredictability, making every twist feel sharper and faster.
  • Tandem Inflatable Tube Experience
This attraction is designed specifically for two riders per tube. You ride together on a tandem inflatable, which increases momentum and makes weight balance an important part of the experience.
  • Signature 360-Degree Spirals
Rather than steep vertical drops, Black Hole is defined by two tight 360-degree spiral sections. These rapid rotations generate strong centrifugal forces, especially because riders can’t see the turns coming.
  • High-Speed Sensory Thrill
The ride reaches speeds of approximately 40 km/h, with the sensation of speed intensified by darkness rather than height. The result is a ride that feels faster and more aggressive than many open slides.
  • A Classic Wet’n’Wild Favourite
Black Hole has long been one of the park’s most talked-about attractions and remains a rite-of-passage ride for guests looking for suspense-heavy thrills.

Visiting Information

1. Ride Type: Enclosed tube slide
2. Rider Configuration:
  • 2 riders per inflatable tube (mandatory)
  • Solo riding is not permitted
3. Minimum Height Requirement: 122 cm (strictly enforced)
4. Maximum Combined Weight: 180 kg per tube
5. Thrill Level: High
6. Best Time to Ride: Early morning or late afternoon

Ticket & Fast Track Information
  • Access: Included with standard Wet’n’Wild Gold Coast admission
  • Fast Track: Black Hole is included in the Fast Track wristband system and is one of the best-value uses of Fast Track due to its lower rider capacity and slower-moving queues
How to Reach Wet’n’Wild Gold Coast
  • By Car: Wet’n’Wild Gold Coast is located on the northern Gold Coast with easy access via the M1. Free parking is available for all guests.
  • By Taxi or Ride-Hailing Apps: Uber, Ola, and local taxis offer direct drop-offs at the park entrance.
  • By Public Transport: Bus services operate from Surfers Paradise and surrounding areas, with stops within walking distance of the park.
Don’t Miss
  • The first blind spiral immediately after launch
  • The intense body-shift sensation caused by total darkness
  • Riding with a well-balanced partner for smoother rotation
  • Pairing Black Hole with Tornado or KABOOM! for contrasting thrill styles
Insider Tips
  • Pair up early: As a tandem-only ride, solo visitors may need to wait to be matched with another rider.
  • Hold tight: The darkness causes more body movement than expected, grip the handles firmly.
  • Mind the weight limit: At 180 kg combined, staff may reassign pairs if needed.
  • Goggles policy: Only soft swim goggles are typically permitted; hard-frame goggles and prescription glasses are usually prohibited.
  • Fast Track pays off: Lower capacity means queues can crawl, Fast Track saves serious time here.
  • If you prefer suspense and sensory overload over height, Black Hole is one of the park’s strongest experiences.

04 KAMIKAZE

Get ready for forward momentum, backward free-fall, and intense airtime on KAMIKAZE, one of Wet’n’Wild Gold Coast’s most unique thrill rides. This U-shaped half-pipe tube slide launches riders down a steep drop before sending them soaring up a massive open wave, only to pull them back down in reverse. It’s a rare sidewinder-style attraction in Australia and delivers a sensation unlike any traditional water slide in the park.

Highlights of KAMIKAZE at Wet’n’Wild Gold Coast
  • U-Shaped Half-Pipe Design
Kamikaze is a sidewinder / half-pipe tube slide, not a straight drop. Riders descend into a giant open U-shaped wave, climbing high up the opposite wall before sliding back down the same path.
  • Forward Drop, Backward Free-Fall
After an 11-metre drop at a 70-degree angle, riders surge up the far wall and experience a powerful moment of zero-gravity before falling backwards down the wave—this reverse motion is the ride’s signature thrill.
  • Open-Air Wave Experience
Following a short enclosed section to build speed, the ride opens completely, exposing riders to the sky and park views as they swing high above the ground.
  • Tandem Tube Ride
Kamikaze uses a two-person inflatable tube, and riders must go together for proper weight balance. The shared motion amplifies the sensation of speed, height, and airtime.
  • Weight-Driven Intensity
The heavier the combined rider weight, the higher the tube swings up the walls, making weight distribution a key factor in how extreme the ride feels.

Visiting Information

1. Ride Type: U-shaped “Half-Pipe” (Sidewinder) tube slide
2. Rider Configuration:
  • 2 riders per tube (required)
  • Solo riding is generally not permitted
3. Minimum Height Requirement: 110 cm (strictly enforced)
4. Maximum Combined Weight: Approx. 180 kg per tube
Thrill Level: Extreme
Best Time to Ride: Early morning or mid-afternoon

  • By Taxi or Ride-Hailing Apps: Uber, Ola, and local taxis offer direct drop-offs at the park entrance.
  • By Public Transport: Bus services operate from Surfers Paradise and surrounding areas, with stops within walking distance of the entrance.
Don’t Miss
  • The moment you crest the second wall and hang weightless
  • The sudden backward plunge that catches most riders off guard
  • Riding with a heavier partner for maximum swing height
  • Pairing Kamikaze with Tornado and Black Hole for contrasting thrill styles
Insider Tips
  • Don’t look back: The backward fall is the most intense part of the ride.
  • Weight matters: Heavier combined weight = higher wall climb and stronger airtime.
  • Hold tight: You’ll pass through the water curtain at the base of the U-bend twice.
  • Expect exposure: This ride is mostly open-air, there’s no hiding from the height.
  • If you want reverse motion and zero-gravity moments rather than pure speed, Kamikaze is unmatched.

05 FLOWRIDER

Challenge your balance and ride a powerful artificial wave on FLOWRIDER, Wet’n’Wild Gold Coast’s skill-based surf simulation attraction. Unlike traditional slides, FlowRider uses high-pressure water jets to push a fast-moving sheet of water over a specially engineered surface, allowing riders to surf in place. It’s an intense, physical experience that rewards technique, control, and confidence, making it a favourite for surf lovers and adrenaline seekers alike.

Highlights of FLOWRIDER at Wet’n’Wild Gold Coast
  • Artificial Standing Wave Technology
FlowRider creates a continuous uphill wave using high-pressure water jets. Riders stay in one spot while the water moves beneath them, closely mimicking real surfing dynamics in a controlled environment.

Guests can ride lying down on a bodyboard or attempt stand-up surfing, depending on height, ability, and staff approval. Sessions are shared, and riders rotate turns during the allocated time.

Children can activate water cannons, sprays, and jets as they move through the structure, encouraging hands-on play, balance, and water confidence.
  • Excellent Shade & Parent Zones
Wet’n’Wild Junior is one of the best-shaded areas in the entire park, with sail cloths and nearby seating designed to support active supervision rather than distant observation.

11 Zoom Zone

Zoom Zone is one of Wet’n’Wild Gold Coast’s most exciting transition attractions, delivering real speed, height, and visual impact for confident riders. Standing at 17.6 metres tall, this four-slide tower combines high-speed body slides with Aqua Lucent colour-changing lighting, making it a major step up from junior attractions and one of the park’s most visually striking rides.

Highlights of Zoom Zone
  • 17.6-Metre High Slide Tower
Zoom Zone is the second-tallest slide tower in the park, featuring four enclosed body slides that deliver fast drops and smooth acceleration. The height alone makes this attraction feel far more intense than its “family-friendly” label suggests.
  • Two Ride Styles for Different Confidence Levels
The tower is divided into two slide types:
  • Twisters: Gentler body slides with smoother drops and curves
  • Loopers: Faster slides with steeper descents for braver riders
  • This split design allows guests to build confidence gradually.

  • Aqua Lucent Light Effects
Inside the tubes, riders experience Aqua Lucent lighting, creating a glowing, kaleidoscopic effect as you descend. The visuals significantly elevate the ride experience compared to standard dark body slides.
  • High-Speed Body Sliding
These are true body slides, no mats, no tubes, and no equipment to carry. Riders lie back and let gravity take over from the moment the trapdoor opens.
  • Transitional Thrill Experience
Zoom Zone serves as the ideal bridge between Wet’n’Wild Junior and major thrill slides like Tornado, Mach 5, and KABOOM!.

Visiting Information
  • Attraction Area: Zoom Zone
  • Tower Height: 17.6 metres

  • Peak Queues: As one of the park’s newest attractions (2025/2026), queues can get long. Ride early in the morning or during the final hour.
  • Visual Focus: The lighting is best experienced at full speed, relax your posture and let the slide do the work.
  • Next Level: After conquering Zoom Zone, most riders are ready for Mach 5, Tornado, or KABOOM!

12 Super Ripper

Super Ripper delivers fast, flowing speed with endless twists, making it one of Wet’n’Wild Gold Coast’s most re-rideable high-thrill body slides. Featuring dual enclosed slides, smooth acceleration, and signature infinity bends, this attraction focuses on momentum and motion rather than extreme drops, perfect for guests who want serious speed without the intimidation of the park’s tallest towers.

Highlights of Super Ripper

Dual Side-by-Side Racing Slides

Super Ripper features two identical enclosed body slides, allowing riders to race friends and family to the bottom. It’s one of the few thrill slides in the park where shared competition adds to the fun.

Signature Infinity Bends

The defining feature of Super Ripper is its high-banked “infinity bends.” These sweeping spiral turns create the sensation of endlessly looping around the slide, delivering smooth but relentless lateral forces.

Feet-First Speed Experience

This is a strictly feet-first body slide. With no tube or mat, riders feel every curve and burst of acceleration, making the ride feel faster and more exposed than raft-based attractions.

Enclosed, High-Velocity Design

The slides are fully enclosed, placing riders in darkness for portions of the descent. While there are no Aqua Lucent lighting effects, the lack of visual reference heightens the sensation of speed.

Accessible Thrill Factor

Launching from the 12-metre level of the newer slide tower, Super Ripper offers strong thrills without the vertical intensity of 27-metre attractions, making it a popular “confidence builder” for younger thrill-seekers.

Visiting Information
  • Attraction Name: Super Ripper
  • Ride Type: Dual enclosed body slides
  • Rider Configuration: Single rider per slide
  • Minimum Height: 102 cm
  • Maximum Weight: 135 kg per rider
  • Thrill Level: Medium–High
  • Ride Duration: Short, fast, and continuous
Important Rider Policies
  • Riding Position: Feet-first only, with arms crossed over the chest and ankles crossed, as instructed by lifeguards.
  • No Loose Items: Jewellery, goggles, and unsecured accessories are not permitted.
  • Swimwear Restrictions: Board shorts with metal rivets or zippers are not allowed, as they may damage the slide surface.
  • Health Advisory: Not recommended for guests with back, neck, or joint issues due to speed and lateral forces.
Ticket Information
  • Access: Included with standard Wet’n’Wild Gold Coast admission
  • Fast Track: Available and useful during peak periods
How to Reach Super Ripper

Super Ripper is located on the 2021 expansion slide tower, alongside KABOOM! and Double Barrel. The dual slide entrances are clearly marked and easy to spot from the main pathways.

By Car: Accessible via the M1 on the northern Gold Coast. Free on-site parking is available.
By Taxi or Ride-Hailing Apps: Uber, Ola, and local taxis offer direct drop-off at the park entrance.
By Public Transport: Bus services operate from Surfers Paradise and nearby suburbs, with stops within walking distance.

Don’t Miss
  • Racing a friend on the side-by-side slides
  • The long, sweeping infinity bends that define the ride
  • Riding multiple times in a row to feel subtle speed differences
  • Pairing Super Ripper with Double Barrel for contrast
Insider Tips
  • Speed Technique: Arch your back slightly so only your shoulder blades and heels contact the slide, less friction means more speed.
  • Great Transition Ride: Super Ripper is an ideal step between Zoom Zone (Loopers) and more intense attractions like AquaLoop.
  • Queue Strategy: Lines are usually shorter mid-afternoon while guests focus on Tornado and KABOOM!.
  • Racing Advantage: Lighter riders often gain a slight speed edge, but body position matters more than weight.
  • Next-Level Thrill: If Super Ripper feels easy, head straight to AquaLoop, which adds a vertical drop and trap-door release.

13 Double Barrel

Double Barrel is a high-speed tandem tube slide that delivers powerful centrifugal force through two massive 360-degree “barrel” loops. Rather than relying on vertical drops, this attraction focuses on wall-hugging spins, banking transitions, and sustained speed, making it one of the most exhilarating rides on Wet’n’Wild Gold Coast’s newer slide tower.

Highlights of Double Barrel

Twin 360-Degree Barrel Loops

The defining feature of Double Barrel is its two enormous saucer-style loops. Riders enter each barrel at speed, climb high up the wall, spin around the perimeter, then drop back into the exit tunnel before hitting the next barrel.

Tandem Tube Experience

Double Barrel is designed as a two-person (tandem) tube ride, allowing friends or family members to share the experience together. The combined weight of riders directly affects speed and how high the tube rides up the barrel walls.

High-Banking, Not Vertical Drops

This ride is about centrifugal force, not free-fall. While it feels intense, there are no near-vertical descents or trapdoor launches. The thrill comes from sustained speed and being pushed outward into the curves.

Slide-In Launch

Riders begin from a standard seated slide-in entry. There is no floor-release or trapdoor mechanism on this attraction.

Accessible Big-Tower Thrill

With a lower height requirement than many headline rides, Double Barrel offers a “big slide” experience that’s accessible to a wider range of guests.

Visiting Information
  • Attraction Name: Double Barrel
  • Ride Type: Tandem (2-person) enclosed tube slide
  • Rider Configuration: 2 riders per tube
  • Minimum Height: 107 cm
  • Maximum Combined Weight: 180 kg per tube
  • Thrill Level: High
  • Ride Focus: Speed, banking, centrifugal force
Important Rider Policies

Riding Position: Riders must remain seated in the tube and hold the handles at all times.
Tandem Rules: Designed for two riders. Solo riding may be permitted only if weight and operational conditions allow.
Loose Items: Jewellery, hard-frame goggles, and unsecured accessories are prohibited.
Health Advisory: Not recommended for guests with back, neck, or heart conditions due to sustained G-forces.

Location

Double Barrel is located on the new slide tower, launching from the 12-metre level, the same height tier as Super Ripper. It shares the main staircase with KABOOM! but branches off at the mid-tower platform.

How to Reach Double Barrel

Double Barrel is located on the KABOOM! / 27-metre tower complex, alongside Super Ripper and KABOOM!. The mid-level entrance is clearly marked and easy to spot from the main pathways leading to the tower.
  • By Car: Accessible via the M1 on the northern Gold Coast. Free on-site parking is available for all guests.
  • By Taxi or Ride-Hailing Apps: Uber, Ola, and local taxis offer direct drop-off at the park entrance.
  • By Public Transport: Bus services operate from Surfers Paradise and nearby suburbs, with stops within walking distance of the main entrance.
Don’t Miss
  • The moment your tube climbs high up the barrel wall
  • Feeling the centrifugal force pin you outward
  • Riding with a heavier partner for extra speed
  • Watching tubes circle the barrels from the viewing area
Insider Tips
  • Pick the Right Partner: The closer your combined weight is to the upper limit (without exceeding it), the faster and higher you’ll ride the barrels.
  • Hold Tight: The banking forces are strong. Keep a firm grip on the handles, especially during the barrel sections.
  • Great Mid-Tower Option: If the KABOOM! The queue is long, Double Barrel is an excellent alternative with quicker throughput.
  • Confidence Builder: This is a perfect progression ride before attempting KABOOM! or the AquaLoop.

14 Super 8 Aqua Racer

Super 8 Aqua Racer is Wet’n’Wild Gold Coast’s ultimate test of speed, reflexes, and bragging rights. This iconic multi-lane mat racer sends riders headfirst down a long, undulating course where races are decided by split seconds rather than sheer drops. It’s fast, competitive, and one of the most repeatable attractions in the park.

Highlights of Super 8 Aqua Racer

Eight-Lane Head-to-Head Racing

The ride features eight parallel racing lanes, allowing up to eight riders to compete simultaneously. Few attractions in the park deliver this level of real-time competition, making it perfect for groups and families.

Headfirst Mat Racing

Riders race headfirst on a foam mat, gripping the handles and keeping low to maximise speed. The sensation is smooth but quick, with water rushing past as you skim over each hump.

Speed Through Momentum

Rather than a single vertical drop, the course uses a series of steep dips and rolling humps to continuously build and maintain speed from top to bottom.

Electronic Finish Line

The race ends at a digitally timed finish line, where sensors track results down to 1/1000th of a second, displaying rankings on a large electronic scoreboard at the splashdown.

Visiting Information
  • Attraction Name: Super 8 Aqua Racer
  • Ride Type: Multi-lane mat racer
  • Riding Position: Headfirst on foam mat
  • Number of Lanes: 8
  • Tower Height: 18 metres
  • Slide Length: 86 metres
  • Minimum Height: 110 cm
  • Maximum Weight: 110 kg per rider
  • Thrill Level: Moderate
  • Top Speed: Approx. 40 km/h
Important Rider Policies
  • Mat Use Required: Riders must use the provided foam mat at all times.
  • Riding Position: Headfirst only, arms extended and holding the handles.
  • Loose Items: Glasses, jewellery, watches, and unsecured items are not permitted.
  • Health Advisory: Not recommended for guests with neck, shoulder, or upper-body injuries due to the riding position and speed.
Location

Super 8 Aqua Racer is located between Zoom Zone, River Rapids, and Constrictor, making it a natural stop when moving between thrill attractions. The open lanes and finish area are clearly visible from nearby walkways.

How to Reach Super 8 Aqua Racer

Super 8 Aqua Racer is located on the 18-metre racing tower, near the KABOOM! / Double Barrel / Super Ripper complex. The 8 parallel lanes are clearly visible from the tower base and main pathways, making it easy to spot.
Don’t Miss
  • Watching the electronic scoreboard after each race
  • Full eight-person group races
  • Trying different lanes to compare speed
  • Photo-finish moments at the splashdown
Insider Tips
  • Start Strong
Races are often won in the first second. Pull yourself forward aggressively on the mat as soon as the signal allows to gain early momentum.
  • Head-Down Technique
Keep your chin tucked toward the mat and elbows pulled in tight. This reduces drag and prevents water spray from hitting your face, helping you maintain visibility.
  • Lane Choice
Lanes 4 and 5 (the centre lanes) usually have the most consistent water flow, making them favourites for competitive riders.
  • Group Photos
Because all eight lanes finish side by side, this is one of the best attractions for group photos. Have a non-rider stand near the bottom fence to capture everyone crossing together.

15 River Rapids

River Rapids is one of Wet’n’Wild Gold Coast’s longest and most accessible high-speed body slide attractions, delivering sustained momentum, sweeping turns, and continuous adrenaline from top to bottom. Despite its name, this is not a raft or rapids ride, it’s a pure solo body-sliding experience built into the side of Whitewater Mountain.

Highlights of River Rapids

Four Individual High-Speed Body Slides

River Rapids consists of four separate body slides launched from the same platform. Two slides are enclosed for a darker, faster-feeling ride, while two are open-air, offering park views as you descend.

Long, Winding Flume

At approximately 150 metres long, River Rapids focuses on sustained speed and flowing curves rather than one big drop. The thrill builds continuously through banked turns and fast transitions.

Accessible Thrill Ride

With a minimum height of just 102 cm, River Rapids is one of the most family-friendly “big slides” in the park, making it a common first step into high-speed body slides.

Shared Splashdown Finish

All four slides exit into one large run-out splash pool, creating an energetic finish and making it easy for groups to regroup at the bottom.

Visiting Information
  • Attraction Name: River Rapids
  • Ride Type: Individual body slides (no mat, no tube)
  • Number of Slides: 4 (2 open, 2 enclosed)
  • Rider Capacity: 1 rider per slide
  • Minimum Height: 102 cm
  • Maximum Weight: 135 kg per rider
  • Thrill Level: Moderate
  • Top Speed: Approx. 40 km/h
Important Rider Policies
  • Riding Position: Feet-first on your back only. Head-first riding is not permitted.
  • Loose Items: Footwear must be removed. Glasses must be secured with a strap.
  • Health Advisory: Not recommended for guests with back, neck, or joint concerns due to speed and banking forces.
Location
  • River Rapids is located on Whitewater Mountain, the central landscaped hill within Wet’n’Wild Gold Coast.
  • It shares its entry platform with the Constrictor, accessed via a winding uphill pathway rather than stairs.
How to Reach River Rapids

River Rapids is located on Whitewater Mountain, near the Zoom Zone and Constrictor slides. The four body slide entrances are clearly marked along the path up the hill.
  • By Car: Accessible via the M1 on the northern Gold Coast. Free on-site parking is available for all guests.
  • By Taxi or Ride-Hailing Apps: Uber, Ola, and local taxis can drop you off directly at the park entrance.
  • By Public Transport: Bus services run from Surfers Paradise and surrounding suburbs, with stops within walking distance of the main entrance. From there, follow the Whitewater Mountain signs to reach River Rapids.
Don’t Miss
  • Trying both enclosed and open slides to compare speed perception
  • Racing friends by choosing different lanes
  • Watching riders exit all four slides into the same splashdown zone
Insider Tips
  • Pick Your Slide Style
The enclosed slides feel faster and more intense due to darkness and sound amplification. The open slides are smoother visually and less disorienting.
  • Prepare for the Walk
Because Whitewater Mountain uses a natural hillside, expect a steady uphill walk rather than tower stairs, pace yourself.
  • Speed Technique
For maximum speed, cross your ankles and arch your back slightly so only your heels and shoulder blades touch the slide surface.
  • Great Confidence Builder
River Rapids is an ideal transition ride for guests working up toward Constrictor, Super Ripper, or Tornado.

16 Constrictor

Constrictor is one of Wet’n’Wild Gold Coast’s most intense raft rides, built entirely around extreme centrifugal force rather than drops or swinging motion. Unlike funnel-style attractions, this slide is almost fully enclosed and focuses on speed, pressure, and tight banking as your raft races through a series of powerful spirals.

Highlights of Constrictor

Triple High-Banking Coils

Constrictor features three massive 360-degree enclosed coils, engineered with exceptionally tight curvature. As the raft accelerates, riders are pushed hard against the outer wall, creating sustained G-forces rather than momentary “airtime.”

Enclosed, Relentless Intensity

The ride remains enclosed for nearly its entire length, amplifying speed perception and disorientation. With no visual reference points, the sensation of spinning feels faster and more aggressive than open slides.

World-Recognised Design

When Constrictor opened, it was recognised for having some of the tightest banking turns in the world for a water slide of its type, this is the core reason it feels so physically intense.

Visiting Information
  • Ride Type: Enclosed high-speed raft slide
  • Raft Style: 3-person inline toboggan-style tube
  • Minimum Height: 122 cm
  • Maximum Combined Weight: 270 kg
  • Thrill Level: High / Extreme
  • Ride Duration: Approx. 1 minute
Rider Rules & Safety
  • Rafts typically seat 3 riders (2 may be permitted depending on combined weight)
  • Riders must remain seated and hold handles firmly
  • Footwear must be removed
  • Not recommended for guests with back, neck, or joint issues due to sustained lateral forces
  • Riders may be paired with others to meet weight and balance requirements
Location

Constrictor is located on Whitewater Mountain, near the centre of the park.
It has its own dedicated uphill access path and uses a conveyor belt system to transport the heavy triple tubes to the launch platform.

How to Reach Constrictor

Constrictor is located on Whitewater Mountain, alongside River Rapids and near the Zoom Zone. The entrance is clearly marked with signs directing guests to the 3-person tube ride.
  • By Car: Accessible via the M1 on the northern Gold Coast. Free on-site parking is available for all guests.
  • By Taxi or Ride-Hailing Apps: Uber, Ola, and local taxis can drop you off directly at the park entrance.
  • By Public Transport: Bus services operate from Surfers Paradise and surrounding suburbs, with stops within walking distance of the main entrance. From there, follow the Whitewater Mountain signage to reach the Constrictor slide.
Don’t Miss
  • The first full-speed coil, where centrifugal force is strongest
  • The sustained pressure through all three spirals, this ride does not “let up”
  • Watching rafts from the exterior sections to see how steeply they bank
Insider Tips
  • The Tandem Strategy
If you are riding as a pair, be prepared for a third rider to be added. The tight turns require sufficient momentum to clear the coils safely.
  • Keep Your Eyes Open
Closing your eyes can increase disorientation due to the continuous spinning. Keeping them open helps your body process the motion.
  • Hold Tight
This ride delivers constant outward force, not brief drops. Grip the side handles firmly to stabilise yourself through the coils.
  • Expect Pressure, Not Airtime
Unlike Tornado-style rides, Constrictor presses you into the tube wall rather than lifting you off the seat. The intensity is muscular, not floaty.

17 Mammoth Falls

Mammoth Falls is Wet’n’Wild Gold Coast’s premier family white-water raft slide. Riders glide along a 200-metre course in a large spinning raft, experiencing twists, banking turns, and splashes. Unlike high-thrill individual slides, this ride is designed for small groups, making it a perfect “next step” for children who have graduated from Wet’n’Wild Junior.

Highlights of Mammoth Falls
  • Family-Friendly Raft Slide
Ride a 2-4 person raft along a winding water course. The raft naturally spins and bounces off the walls, giving everyone a shared thrill experience without requiring navigation or teamwork.
  • Spinning & Splashing Fun
The slide’s gravity-fed design and banked turns create exciting spins, bumps, and splash zones, perfect for children and adults alike. The thrill is in the motion itself, not in paddling or steering.
  • Accessible for Younger Children
With a minimum height of 100 cm, Mammoth Falls is one of the few “big” Wet’n’Wild rides that younger kids can enjoy safely.

Visiting Information
  • Ride Type: Family White-Water Raft Slide
  • Rider Capacity: 2-4 people (minimum 2 required)
  • Minimum Height: 100 cm

Don’t Miss
  • The final big splash zone=anyone could end up spinning backward into it!
  • The raft spins naturally through the 200-metre course, creating unpredictable fun.
Insider Tips
  • The “Dry Seat” Myth
No one stays dry! The spinning raft ensures everyone gets soaked at least once during the ride.
  • Conveyor Belt Advantage
You don’t carry the raft up the stairs”the conveyor belt does it for you. Just walk up to the loading platform.
  • Weight Distribution
For extra spins, have the two heaviest riders sit next to each other instead of opposite. It creates an imbalance that makes the raft rotate more aggressively in corners.
  • Perfect First Big Ride
If your kids loved Wet’n’Wild Junior but are now over 100 cm, Mammoth Falls is their ideal first “big” attraction. Safe yet fast, it bridges the gap between junior slides and the high-thrill tower rides.

Wet’n’Wild Junior Slides are located in the dedicated Wet’n’Wild Junior precinct at the back of the park, near the AquaPlay structure. This area is clearly signposted and ideal for younger children (under 10 years).
  • By Car: Accessible via the M1 on the northern Gold Coast. Free on-site parking is available for all guests. After entering the park, follow signs for Wet’n’Wild Junior / AquaPlay.
  • By Taxi or Ride-Hailing Apps: Uber, Ola, and local taxis can drop you off at the park entrance. From there, walk straight to the junior area at the back of the park.
  • By Public Transport: Bus services operate from Surfers Paradise and nearby suburbs. After entering the park, follow the internal signs for Wet’n’Wild Junior to reach the slides efficiently.
Insider Tips
  • Start with the Mini-Aqua Racer
For nervous or first-time riders, the Mini-Aqua Racer is ideal, it is straight, visible from the bottom, and allows kids to “race” safely.
  • Giant Tipping Bucket Timing
The large bucket atop the AquaPlay structure tips every 2-4 minutes. If your child is sensitive to loud splashes, listen for the preceding “bell” or “clacker” to move them safely out of the splash zone.
  • The Dry Parent Advantage
Parents supervising from the splashdown areas can stay relatively dry while still keeping a close eye on their kids. Avoid standing directly under the tipping bucket!
  • Footwear & Safety
Aqua shoes are fine around the precinct but must be removed before riding the slides. Children can hold them or leave them at the bottom of the slides.

This experience was the highlight of our short vacation to Dubai! Booking on Thrillark website was super easy and they sent a driver to pick us up at our hotel. The driver's name was Comando, and he told us all about Dubai, and he was really knowledgeable, which made our trip enjoyable. When you book with them tell them to send you to Comando ????
