Detailed Description
On a full-day tour to the Gallipoli battlefields, learn about the legendary World War I campaign in which Allied Forces, including many from Australia and New Zealand, attempted to open up a supply route to Russia. You will leave Istanbul early in the morning and drive to the Dardanelles, stopping for breakfast at 08:30 a.m. Enjoy lunch with panoramic views of the Dardanelles landscape upon arrival in Eceabat.
The Ariburnu Cemetery and the ANZAC Commemorative Site are highlights of your tour. See the Turkish Canon Batteries as well as the landing beach at Anzac Cove, which served as the main base for Australian and New Zealand troops. Discover the resting place of Anzac legend John Simpson Kirkpatrick, and pay your respects to memorials erected to remember the fallen, such as the Australian Lone Pine Memorial and the New Zealand Chunuk Bair Memorial. Depart for Istanbul at 6:00 PM, returning to the city for the tour's conclusion at approximately 11:00 PM, with a rest stop en route.
