Approximately 90 km from Riyadh.    Driving to the Edge of the World Travelling is a little risky, so we will unfold the easiest way to get to the destination safely and securely. Travelling to the Edge of the World requires some planning while reaching it via car, which is relatively risky; a 4×4 vehicle is highly recommended. Tours from Riyadh provide transportation to the site, which is convenient and beneficial for first-time visitors to explore.   How to get the Edge of the World  Start your journey from Riyadh and head north on King Khaled Rd. (535) towards Salbouk.  After covering 30 km from Riyaadh, you will reach an intersection and turn left on the 5766 to Jubaylah.  Set the odometer to zero and continue to drive; thus, the road will transition to Route 5762, leading to Sadus.  After 30 km, turn left onto the desert trail at GPS coordinates N24 57 21.2, E46 13 41.6. Drive through the dirt track, and understand; this is the starting point of the off-road ride to the site. Later, you will see a blue Arabic sign approximately 50 metres from the road. Follow the path, passing a fence on your left side., leading to a dam and a ranger’s gate. Turn right and enter Acacia Valley.  Drive alone for the next 20 kilometres. The terrain becomes rockier, and eventually, you finally reach the Edge of the World location. Keep the right at forks, and avoid entering small villages. They are dead ends.  When to visit the site? Since the rangers shut the gate at Acacia Valley by 6:00 p.m., Plan the tour for at least a 2-hour drive to Acacia Valley,  2 hours at the site and another 2 hours for the return trip. Daylight viewing is recommended since navigating the desert landscape at night is risky. You must make it to the Acacia Valley before 6 pm to avoid being stuck and losing the chance to reach the site.  How to catch the best view: Ascending the cliff from the parking area gives you a fantastic view, yet the magical moment happens when you make it to the end. And that pit is where you feel the natural “Edge of the World.” Things to do at the Edge of the World Embark on a Cliffside Hike: Ascend to the summit and experience the thrilling sense of standing on the edge, feeling like you are on the brink of the world. Best Time for Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque Visit Abu Dhabi generally has a hot climate, but the best time to visit is during the winter, between October and February. During this period, the temperatures drop to around 20 degrees Celsius, offering a milder climate with comfortable sunshine. For the best visit, typically the tour commences in the morning at 11:00 AM, and it is better to arrive around 5:30 in the evening, where you can lavishly walk around the mosque without being affected by blistering heat burning your feet. Staying a bit longer until sunset will allow you to witness the stunning sight of the illuminated mosque under the night sky. Things to do in Sheikh Zayed Mosque For a better understanding of the mosques, you can enrol a tour guide. Given its gigantic size and rich historical significance it is quite impossible to explore without a tour guide. Three tour services are offered from Saturday to Thursday, from 9 a.m. onwards . And on Friday, the tour will start at 5:00 AM.  For your convenience, call your tour guide at any time from morning to evening. How to meet your guide When you arrive at the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque, head to the North Parking (Tourism) area near Security Gate #4. Show your tickets on your smartphone to start the tour. How to reach the mosque The mosque is approximately 19 kilometres from the Abu Dhabi airport. If you are travelling with your family and friends, you can take a taxi directly from the airport, which typically costs between AED 90 and AED 120.  Bus services are also available, but they won’t go directly to the grand mosque. So you have to take a bus to Zayed Sports City and then get a taxi from there, around 3.1 km to the Grand Mosque.
